Welcome to Alexandra’s Kitchen
Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here. Below you will find a series of videos that I hope may offer some guidance in regard to chopping some of the items we reach for most often while cooking: onions, citrus, herbs, etc.
Throughout the videos, too, I share some of the tools I reach for most often. I’ve linked to them below the videos as well.
Happy chopping!

Thank you Alexi for such great tips 🙂 I love cooking very much and can’t wait to apply all of your recipes 🙂
I made the peasant bread last night! One loaf plain and one loaf with olive oil and rosemary!! OMG! Both came out fabulous and it was so easy!! Now I want to bake bread for everyone!! ♥️🍞
Yay! And yum 🙂 Love rosemary. Thanks so much for writing 🙂
Ali, great, simple tutorials, thanks for that. Easy to remember and even easier to apply.
I appreciate how unpetensive your material is. Removing the “snobbishness” (is that even a word?) and breaking down these techniques is most helpful. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, Christopher 🙂 🙂 🙂 Means a lot. Thanks for reading and writing.
These dicing and slicing videos are so simple and helpful! Thanks so much!
Thank you, Dawn 🙂
Ali! very interesting cuts! Will definitely use!
Thanks, Tatiana 🙂 🙂 🙂
These are fabulous. How do you keep your knives so sharp? How often do you sharpen them?
Thank you, Patti 🙂 I have this sharpener, which I love and which I use every few weeks or so, but the best thing to do is to take them to a place or person who sharpens knives. I am long over due!
Such simple cooking tips that will last a lifetime! Thank you, Ali, for being so practical.
Your recipes are amazing!
Thank you, Naomi 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thank you, Ali, for all of your suggestions. Born and raised in Philadelphia, I have several family and friends who are graduates of “The Restaurant School” in Philly. In Philly we consider ourselves the “City of Brotherly Love”, but now I think of it as the “City of Sisterly Love” for all you do for so many.
Awwww, Angie, thank you 🙂 🙂 🙂 I miss Philly so much. It’s therapy for me to walk those streets when I get the chance to visit. Such a fun city 🙂
Very useful help!

Hi Ali,

Thank you for your onion tip, I cut lots of onions and I will try your dicing method.
Hope it works for you, Toni!
Really found these tutorials helpful. I knew a couple hints already, but learned new techniques here. One distracting feature was that toward end of each video a picture of a link to another recipe would pop up on the screen. Otherwise very well done.
Thank you.
This was very helpful thank you
Terrific videos and so helpful. I discovered you thru a recommendation for your peasant bread on Amazon. Your website and emails are one of my go-tos now.
Thank you Devon! So nice to hear 🙂
Which are the perfect wooden spoons and for what use!? Thanks in advance
Hi! Shockingly I actually don’t have a wooden spoon — I think all of mine have been hand me downs from me mom. If I find a new one I like, I will report back 🙂
Love all your tips!
Thank you, Carolyn 🙂
