Kohlrabi is a vegetable you may have never heard of, unless you belong to a farmshare or a CSA. This crisp, mild, and refreshing vegetable is a member of the cabbage family and tastes like a cross between a turnip and an apple. Kohlrabi is harvested during the summer, and it takes well to a simple dressing. Here is my favorite kohlrabi salad recipe.
